EYE HEALTH: New Studies show what we've always recommended

Another two recent studies have shown that contact lens wearers will have more complications (eye infections, irritation and inflammation) when they keep their contact lenses longer that the manufacturers' recommended replacement, and when contact lens wearers using multipurpose solution report to never/almost never rub and rinse their lenses, when compared with those who did this every night. 

Be good to your eyes by getting rid of those contacts when your optometrist tells you to and rub those lenses to clean them.

EYE HEALTH: Diet, Vegetarianism, and Cataract Risk

More and more research is being done into the effects of our lifestyle and our diet on eye health. Last month the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition reported on a British Study showing a lower incidence of Cataract in vegans and vegetarians. There was also some benefit seen in low meat eaters and fish eaters (participants who ate fish but not meat) too, when compared to a high meat eating diet. It was thought that the increased intake of a variety of nutrients in vegetable based diets was the cause.
